Starting with the DOVE (Diakonia Overcoming Violence Exchange) event today. I'll be with diaconal colleagues from the USA, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Canada. Thank you so much to the Wesley Diaconal Community of the Methodist Church of the Caribbean and the Americas for all their work and effort and pulling this together. We were supposed to be in Jamaica in September 2020 for this -- but postponed, and then decided to go virtual. We have a wonderful line-up of speakers and presentators. Really looking forward to this. ... See MoreSee Less
What an excellent initiative! I wish the DOVE event every success and hope that the message of diakonia overcoming violence will spread.

I wear black on Thursdays in support of the movement towards a world without rape and violence, because I believe that as a child of and worker in the kin-dom of God that I have a call to share the love of God to all and that where there is pain and suffering that it is my call to find whatever ways that I might be able to help to ease that pain and suffering. -Sister Megan McClinton, The Deaconess Community of the ELCA
You don't CHOOSE one CAUSE but, your LIFESTYLE and SPEECH MATTER most to represent the KINGDOM OF our LORD JESUS. Once you advocate for the GLORY of the KINGDOM OF GOD, the BETTER the world is getting out of darkness to the LIGHT OF our JESUS CHRIST.
The deadline for applications for stewards at the 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches (to be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, August-September 2022) has been extended. Apparently, there are currently disproportionately few applications from North America. Applicants must be aged 18-30 and have an active church connection. Applicants who have never travelled outside of their own country are particularly encouraged to apply.
