DOTAC supports projects overcoming violence. Our latest project was at LUPA - Lutheran Institution in Paracatu - Brazil.
This project (April 2002 - February 2003) was initially conceived to assist students of the Lutheran School and their families, but its influence quickly extended to other groups also involved in the activities of LUPA.
Highlights included:
- visits to families: after a few visits it is noticed that their relationship with the school gets increasingly better;
- breakfasts for children prior to school day;
- psychological assistance for students as well as their mothers and fathers;
- National Meeting Encounter of Women, with the theme “Women say No to Violence”;
- Lecture and documentation to a group of women from the Council for Protection to Children and Adolescents;
- A group of students from the “Olendina de Paula” primary school played a piece for our student’s mothers, emphasizing the importance for children to attend school.”
DOTAC assisted this project with a gift of $1000.00.
